The World of Publicity.

 Grundtvig 2
September 2004-July 2005

Summary of the Project:

The Learning Partnership will be formed by young adults from different European countries (Spain, Poland and France) who will tackle, in a critical way, the subject of publicity and consumerism, exchanging and contrasting their experiences and knowledge. The power of publicity and consumerism are two realities which are present in and influence all society spectra. Youngsters and adults are accomplices or victims of publicity; however, it is youngsters who are especially vulnerable since their personality is on construction and they very often have the need to be identified with a group, understanding this identification by having same things, same brand, label clothes, etc..

With the development of the proposed activities, the participants will get to know the resources, techniques and strategies used in publicity, acquire a critical and responsible attitude towards publicity and consumerism, know and exercise their right as consumers, find out, analyse and compare how other persons from other nationalities and cultures think about the phenomenon of publicity (differences and similarities).

For that purpose, the participants will analyze a blockbuster film, study the language of cinema, comics and publicity, shoot an advertisement making use of what they have learnt, and write a project report which will be disseminated by them through round table talks.
