GRUNDTVIG LEARNING PARTNERSHIPS. (INTER) NATIONAL DAYS

Project summary

The partnership expects to reinforce democratic values –human rights, equality, social rights (education, health, interculturality…)-, active citizenship and social participation by using creative strategies.

In order to achieve this, we will work collaboratively with ICT –moodle platform and email- and at meetings, always using creative strategies and prioritizing innovation for exchange between partners. We will follow these steps:

1st year:

Step 0: beginning of the project: opening of platform, presentation of partners…
Step 1: each partner with its target group will analyze in a creative way their starting point about the subject (International Days and citizenship) and about creative methodologies –for what and how they use them, which…-; they will present what they expect to get from the project and will exchange these with the others.
Step 2: elaboration of an inventory of creative strategies and methodologies.
Step 3: identification and selection of International and World Days particularly significant for the target groups. Also, each partner will choose a National Day and will explain the others what and how they celebrate, in order to promote other countries knowledge.
Step 4: Encounter of partners for decision-making, follow-up, exchange…; elaboration of a calendar with all the chosen dates

2nd year:

Step 5: each partner will choose 2 international days and 1 national day and describe them: what are their objectives, who promotes it and why… and will propose a creative way to celebrate it. Celebration of another country’s local day is encouraged, in order to create empathy.
Step 6: once all the proposals have been carried out, the calendar is completed with creative reports of what every partner has done.
Step 7: 2nd encounter of partners, evaluation of the project development, progress, changes if any, and presentation of the way how it will be integrated in the future.

2 meetings will be held.

Target groups

Adults, especially:

Migrants / travellers / ethnic or other minorities
Other economically or socially disadvantaged groups, unemployed persons, persons in prison
Young adults (15-25 age range) at risk of social marginalisation

Project objectives

Our objectives are:

To reinforce democratic values –human rights, equality, social rights (education, health, interculturality…)-, active citizenship and social participation
To promote, awake and reinforce creativity
To use collaborative work strategies through ICT –moodle platform and email
To promote knowledge of the European diversity and the common values

FAEA (ES) is a non-profit, nationwide federation born in 1984. It groups 55 associations working in Adult Education with population at risk of exclusion –minorities, young adults, people without education-. FAEA has 3 main fields of work: to create opinion by means of the analysis and dissemination of studies and research; research and innovation in teaching methodologies –design and edition of didactic materials, second language acquisition, training of trainers, management of organizations; consultancy services to associations with validated methods for strategic planning, project management, training of educators at the work place.

LUETEC EUROPEAN CAMPANIA THIRD AGE UNIVERSITY is a no profit cultural institution dealing with social activity for associates and third parties. It was set up in 2000 as a lifelong education centre both for young people and adult-senior citizens. Our main aim is to meet their life-long educational needs for personal development and for improving their work-related skills, as well as supporting their needs for social networking and general well-being.
We carry out studies and researches about life-long learning and adult vocational training.

We organize adult and senior citizens oriented formative paths but we also work with private or public boards both at local and international level.

Project progress

The project started in August 2008. The first meeting will take place in Naples, Italy, in January 2009
