National Literacy Award Miguel Hernández
The Miguel Hernández awards were established by the Ministry of Education in 1991. They are meant to acknowledge the importance due to the efforts done towards the elimination of disadvantages in education and of the discrimination of underprivileged groups towards basic education, as well as acknowledging the outstanding contribution of public institutions and private not-for-profit organizations towards the suppression of illiteracy, both in the traditional sense of the word and in the new one that scientific and technological progress can produce.
